Preservation Society Mansions: Tours, Special Events, and Photography
As Rhode Island's most significant cultural organization, the Preservation Society of Newport County is dedicated to preserving and protecting an exceptional collection of 14 house museums and landscapes, seven of which are now National Historic Landmarks. Spanning three centuries from the Colonial era to the Gilded Age, these cherished mansions represent some of the finest achievements in American architecture, decorative arts, and landscape design. Self or guided tours are available for 11 of the Newport mansions. Enjoy an audio tour at the Breakers, the Elms, Marble House, and Rosecliff, while guided tours are provided at Chateau-sur-Mer, Chepstow, Hunter House, Isaac Bell House, and Kingscote. Go behind-the-scenes on the Servant Life Tour at The Elms, stroll through the lush gardens, bring the kids on a children's tour, or attend the fun annual events happening at the mansions all year long.
